As an independent open access journal, Politikon: The IAPSS Journal of Political Science aims to bridge the gap between emerging scholars and the wider academic community.
We are currently seeking a new Deputy Editor to support our editorial team and contribute to this important endeavor.
Position Details:
- One-year term
- Unpaid volunteer work
- Must maintain IAPSS membership throughout the editorial collaboration
Deputy Editor Responsibilities:
- Support the Editor-in-Chief in implementing editorial strategy aligned with IAPSS goals and Politikon's mission
- Assist in managing the editorial process: reviewing submissions, coordinating peer-review, and maintaining publication schedule
- Help ensure content quality, accuracy, style, and tone
- Build relationships with authors and reviewers, providing guidance and feedback
- Contribute to promotion strategies, including social media, email marketing, and partnerships
- Co-organize Politikon's methodological seminar series
- Collaborate on special issues and potentially lead a special issue in 2026 on a topic of your choice
Ideal Candidates:
- PhD student or early career scholar in Political Science or related field
- Strong writing and editing skills with some publication experience
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Commitment to IAPSS goals: promoting Political Science education and international dialogue
